Started period, start new pack of birth control?

I started my period last night, I have horrible cramps and mood swings with my period and I know that the bleeding isn't really even a period, but withdrawal bleeding. so, I started a new pack of my birth control today, because I'm tired of dealing with the horrible things that go along with my period. I don't want to be reprimanded or anything, I just want to know what will happen now that I've started a new pack while on my period.
