Why do europeans look down on asians?And think tat all of us r poor, starving and undeveloped?

I am Malaysian currently studying in the UK. Some europeans r bigoted in terms of their view on my origin. As a Malaysian, I get 2 travel to 145 countries without a visa and we r an upper middle cl country tat is striving 2 bcm a developed country in just 9 years. We hv modern infrastructure, lowest unemployment percentage in the world, only 2% poverty, high life expectancy and human development index. N we rarely cause trouble in other ppl's country. I dun get how some( not most) europeans I met think tat we r some shitty, rural, starving and poor country. Does tat make them feel better abt themselves? Can u guys explain this phenomenon?
